Post and telegraph office consisted of the main switchboard with as many as 130 telephone lines, which was a great number at that time, for the needs of mine, as well as for citizens’ needs, a telegraph office, postal counters located on the ground floor of the building, while two flats for post office clerks were located on the first floor. Telegraph office played an important role in 1940 at the time the largest mining accident took place in Raša mine. Daily reports on the number of killed and injured miners, as well as the condition of the mine from were sent from Raša to Venice. Namely, the main office of the Interregional Delegation for War Production (DELEFAG) was located in Venice. Since the mine was under a special military rule at that time, the majority of telegrams were sent directly to Venice.
